Anti-static fabric is constructed by weaving or embedding conductive fibers into ordinary fabric to form a low-resistance conductive mesh structure. This structure rapidly dissipates static charges generated on the surface of objects due to friction, contact, or separation, thereby preventing the buildup of static electricity.
Anti-static fabric possesses excellent conductivity, with a surface resistance typically ranging from 10⁴ to 10⁹ ohms, enabling rapid charge dissipation. The performance achieved by physically weaving in conductive fibers is durable and stable, and the fabric possesses low-dust and low-exfoliation cleanliness characteristics. Its primary functions include protecting sensitive electronic components from damage caused by electrostatic discharge, preventing dust from being attracted by static electricity to maintain a clean environment, enhancing production safety to avoid accidents caused by electrostatic sparks, and providing comfort by reducing discomfort caused by static electricity.
The difference between anti-static fabric and ordinary fabric lies in the former’s ability to effectively dissipate static electricity, whereas ordinary fabric tends to accumulate static. The distinction from insulating fabric is that anti-static fabric allows charges to leak slowly and safely, whereas insulating fabric completely blocks current flow, leading to significant charge buildup. The anti-static effect achieved by weaving in conductive fibers is long-lasting, unlike the temporary effect provided by surface spraying with anti-static agents.
