Situation 1

When the anti-static wrist strap is inserted, when the resistance between human body and ESD ground is less than 0.75m, the indicator light is on and there is an alarm sound. What is the reason for the monitoring alarm of the anti-static wrist strap?

Cause: This indicates that the wrist strap is broken or not worn properly.

Note: when the resistance between human body and ESD is less than 0.75m Ω, the hazard relationship is that when human body contacts leakage equipment or charged objects, there is a risk of electric shock. Common sense of anti-static: the current passing through the human body is 20mA, which can cause shock or death. So this value of 0.75m Ω is a safety factor. The wrist strap is internally equipped with a resistance of more than 0.75m Ω and less than 2m.

Situation 2

When the anti-static wrist strap is inserted, when the resistance between human body and ESD ground is greater than 9.999m Ω, the indicator light is on and there is an alarm sound.

Cause: This indicates that the wrist strap resistance is too small or the resistance set by the online monitor is too small.

Note: when the resistance between human body and ESD ground is greater than 9.999, the hazard relationship is that static electricity will be generated when human body moves continuously. When it is greater than 9.999, static electricity of human body cannot be effectively conducted. Harm of static electricity: for example, the withstand voltage parameters of electronic components are only a few volts or tens of volts. When the static electricity of human body is greater than the withstand voltage parameters of components, the contacted electronic components will be broken down and scrapped. Especially for IC integrated circuits, such as plastic shell production line, due to static electricity, plastic shell painting, electroplating, rough surface, many trachoma, poor hand feeling and so on.

When the pass indicator is on or only one indicator is off.

(Note: Online monitors produced by different manufacturers have different styles: some have only one indicator light; some have three indicators, namely Lo / low resistance; pass / normal resistance; hi / high resistance)

Under the premise that the alarm does not alarm; It indicates that the user has been in close contact with ESD, indicating that the wrist strap is well worn.
