Sticky Mat is also called Tacky Mat, or anti-static radio mat. It is usually used in the production workshops and laboratories of microelectronics industry, such as electronic semiconductor devices, electronic computers, electronic communication equipment and integrated circuits. It is used to pave desktop, assembly line working surface, shelf and make floor mats.The conventional Sticky Mat is generally a two-layer structure, with the surface layer of about 0.3-0.5mm thick electrostatic dissipation layer and the bottom layer of about 1.5-1.7mm thick conductive layer, usually 2mm double-layer composite structure. In the workshop to eliminate static electricity, ESD table mat is used to eliminate static electricity generated by operators, electronic components, turnover boxes, packaging items and other items in contact with the table mat. The Sticky Mat releases the static electricity of the human body during the working process, so that the ESD tweezers, tools, appliances and instruments on the human body and the table reach a uniform potential, so that the electrostatic sensitive device (SSD) is not disturbed by the phenomenon of electrostatic discharge, so as to achieve the effect of electrostatic protection, effectively buffer and avoid damaging the equipment.
The main working principle is:
1. Surface storage absorbs static electricity around the desktop;
2. The bottom surface is a conductor, which can quickly release the absorbed static electricity;
3. One end of the grounding wire is connected to the table mat and the other end is grounded. Static electricity reaches the ground smoothly through the ground wire. In this way, static electricity on the console can be eliminated.
Since there is static electricity on the object surface, the purpose of testing the Sticky Mat is to evaluate their ability to dissipate static electricity on its top surface or working surface. We conduct two types of tests on the top surface of the mat used for electrostatic control: resistance top-down (RTT) test and resistance ground point (RTG) test.
Surface resistance, volume resistance and friction voltage shall be tested for anti-static test of Sticky Mat according to SJ / T 10694, GB / T 31838, IEC 61340 and ANSI / ESD S20 20 or customer specified standards.
Surface resistance: the ratio of the voltage between two specific electrodes placed on the same side of the material to the current they pass through.
Volume resistance: the ratio of the DC voltage per unit thickness to the current per unit area passing through the material. The test electrode is placed at the corresponding position on the opposite surface of the material.
Friction voltage: when two different materials or the same material are rubbed against each other or in close contact and separated with the specified test methods and parameters, the two materials will bear the same amount of static charge with different signs respectively. When the friction charge of the material is stable, record its electrostatic voltage value and polarity, so as to evaluate the electrostatic characteristics of the test material.
